By Electric Telegraph — Copyright. (per press association.) London, April 7. The wool sales give indications of increasing strength, and Jin advance is expected, chiefly in fine greasy merinos. Home and foreign buyers are competing with great spirit. Up to date 58,000 bales have been catalogued, of which 56,800 have been sold to the Home trade. The present wool aeries close on Bth May. An Australian wheat cargo lias been sold at 37/3. The New Zealand Loan and Mecantile Agency Company (Limited) have received the following telegram from their London office, dated 2nd inst :—-" Wool— The sales opened this day fully at the lovel of last series. The attendance of both Home and foreign buyers is good, and competition by them is activo. The sales comprise 296,000 bales, and 77,000 have been sent to the naanu acluring districts. Wheat and flour— The market has a down ward tendency." The fo!lowin<» telegram has also been received, dated 6th instant : — " Woe I—The1 — The sales gain firmness as tiey p-Ojjr s;. T illo.v has advanced £1 per ton eince last report New Zealand fiax — The market is lower. Medium quality is worth i'3s per ton."
