The N.Z.L. and M.A. Oompany re» port under date Sydney March 22nd:New Zealand Hemp (free).— L22 may be taken at the quotation for best quality — clean and well dressed. Fuxgus (free). — Best well-dried fungus may again be quoted at 4£d. Hides (free). — The market has been steady during the week, and a good business has been done, an advance on late rates being occasionally j secured for extra heavy descriptions. We quote : — Prime extra heavy, 4£d to s£d ; ordinary heavy, 3d to 3Jd ; medium, 2£d to 2|d ; dry, 2£d to S^d ; yearlings, 4/- to 7/6 ; calf, 1/- to 3/6 ; horsehides, 2/6 to 7/6. Wool (free). — The most noticeable features in this market during the past week has been the firmness of urices for all descriptions. This encouraging condition of the business is attributable to the maintenance of consumption on a large scale, and to the support given t© values at the /'loq<? of the first series of London s.;l>;s in February. The Antwerp series of sales which opened on the 19th inst. are reported to have passed off well. _________^ mmm .
