The Feilding Star. SATURDAY, APRIL 6, 1889. The Ministry
The retirement of the Hon. George Fisher from the Ministry may be looked upon a* an accomplished fact, if we may place any, reliance on our Wellington telegrams. As we have no actual information as to the causes which hare led up to this unhappy event we will not attempt to be the apologists of Mr Fisher, or the comminators of his colleagues. From what we know of the man we feel disposed to believe that Mr Fisher will oe able to give an explanation which will exonerate him — if his conduct needs exoneration — not only with his constituents, but with the whole of the electors of the colony. While doing this it stands to reason that his " impracticable colleagues " will not undergo the scathing ordeal of his peculiarly rough criticism without some soars and bruises.
