Cqiripiny report under date Sydney, March 22'ndi— Wheat (free).— Transactions have been numerous, and large lines for forward delivery from New Zealand have been placed *t "equal to* from 4/6 to 4/9 ci*. Tuscan is in good ; demand at those figures; but Hunter's White is very difficult to sell at a concession on those prices'.' -.*, I Oats (free).— Further heavy withdrawals on Melbourne account have ! almost cleared the market here for the I moment, and prices show some little improvement all round in consequence of the temporary shortness of supplies. Values range up to 3/3 per bushel. This improvement in value is likely to be -only a passing one however, as there is nothing to justify the advance being maintained when supplies again begin to come forward freeiyV / Flour (free). — There has been little! change in this market since we last wrote, a feeling of uncertainifcy as to the probable course of prices causing buyers to operate with caution. The favourite New Zealand roller brands are worth £11 15/- ; and Best Adelaide up to £13. Buttke (duty Id per lb)-— -This market again shows a further improvement, more especially in the better qualities of locally made butter, and we to-day quote*. Locally dairy, from 1/- to 1/4 per lb : ; separator, 1/4 to 1/6 per U> ; factories, 1/6 to 1/9 per lb; NZ. separator, up to 1/3 per lb; new dairy- made, 9d to 1/1 per lb ; supplies of our own locally made coast butter of best quality have been somewhat lighter of late, and the demand having been well maintained, quotations have advanced in consequence. The high figures above , quoted foj local makes have had the effect of curtailing business somewhat in these sorts, and dealers are now more inclined to operate in the bet**r qualities of New Zealand butter than they were some little time back.
