Fleming and Hedley offered for sale some 50,003 bushels of grain, chiefly wheat, at Oamaru, on Saturday. There was a large attendance of merchants and farmers. The samples of wheat offering included red straw, Tuscan, and Mold's Enobled, Hunter's white, red chaff, and velvet; Several lines of the latter were passed in at 3s lid and 3s ll£d, the quality being exceedingly fine. The wheat sold ranged in price from 3s 8d for velvet to 4s Of d for Tuscan, or about an average of 3s lOd for lots sold. Several parcels of oats offered and sold at from 2s 3d for feed to 2s 4£d for short variety.
