It is blowing a half gale wind and up to the luncheon adjournment only the first range of the Wellington match, 7 shots at 200 yards, was completed. Purnell, Wanganui, and Storey, Blenheim, are top with 29 each, several others are well up. The shooting of course, was indifferent.
The 200 yardf range match is to be fired this afternoon.

The following are the highest scores in the 200 yds range, New Plymouth match, 7 shots. — Major Purnell, Wanganui, 29 ; Sergt. Storey, Marlborough Hussars, 29 ; Captain Flyger, Wanganui, 28. Lieut. Chamberlain made 89 in the 200yds of the Hawkes Bay match, 10 shots, the highest scorer being Private Riddle, Waimate, with 44.
The highest prizetakers in the New Plymouth match are — Howe, Wellington, £8 ; Taylor, Auckland, £6 ; Flyger, Wanganui, £Q ; Atkinson, Wellington, £4.
