The Rawson Enquiry
(I'ER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. ) JN'ew Plymouth. March 15.
The Rawson inquiry continued its sittings to-day, when Messrs O. Harauel, solicitor, and F. R. Corkill were examined. They denied having stated to Wallath that the affidavit they wanted him to swear was for the purpose of striking Mr Hutchinson off the rolls. The hearing of the first charge was concluded, but the Commissioners dtc ined tv give any expression of opinion on the case till they make their report to the Governor. The charges of drunkenness and two others have been virtually abandoned, on account of the prosecution being un» able to give the specific date. They could only state the mouth and year, but not the day of the month, and the Commission held that such chargeH were too indefinite. When the court rose. Mr Jellicoe bad just opened the case on a charge laid by Byrne, of Hawera, iv connection with the alleged improper adjudication by Mr Rawsou as Registrar of the >upreme Court.
