Sad Accident in the Wanganui River

[ PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. ] Wanganui, March 11. On Saturday night, T. Dawaon, telegraphist, and Mr E. Newing, farmer, went out in the boating club's tub floundering. The tub was found yesterday bottom up, and as the occupants have not been heard of since, it is supposed they have been drowned, especially as a coat found to-day has been recognised as Newiug's. Dawson has been in the service over 20 years, and has made a name for him* self as a discoverer of the easiest route known of to reach the top of Mount Egmont. Newing was a young man living at Manaia, and was on a visit to Dawson.
