Y.R.C. AUTUMN MEETING.
By Electric Telegraph. — Copyright I TEK UNITED I'UESS ASSOCIATION. | Melbourne, Marcli 9. Early in the morning it was reported that Carbine had burst his hoof in the Champion race on Thuis day, but the easy way in which he romped home in both races to-day proves that there is little wrong with him. He fairly romped away in the All Aged Stakes, and had there been anything in the race to ask him to gallop he would in all probability hare broken the Australian mile record. All-aged Stakes— Carbine, Bst 4lb, 1 ; Sinecure, 2 ; Chintz, 3. Eussley and Nerissa also started. Carbine went to the front at the start, and was never asked to gallop, winning in the easiest possible manner in a canter by two lengths. Time, lmin 42sec. Place Handicap. — Abercorn, 9st 101 b, 1 ; Charmer, 2 ; Cyclops, 3. Won by a length. The L >eh Plate. — Carbine, 9st, 1 ; Lochiel, 2 ; Carlyon, 3. On the fall of the flag Clifford rushed Lochiel to the front until a mile had been traversed, but here Mick O'Brien brought up Carbine, and, disputing every yard of the way home, he wore down Lochiel, and won a ding-dong race by half a length. Time, 3min 35sec.
