The New South Wales Government' have ordered from Sir W. Armstrong, =-at Elswick, four 22-ton guns. Mr Parnell who was received with great applause, said that Ireland only wanted power to deal with matters concerning herself without the interests of the Empire. March 3. It is stated that among Pigott's effects was found another confession in which he re-asserted that the first batch of letters was genuine and the remainder forged. He also left a notebook behind containing numerous interesting entries. Mr Parnell has been invited to the celebration of Gladstone's golden wedding. The National Liberal Club intend giving a banquet to Parnell in commemoration of hu viotory over The Times. The American presß generally agree that the apology made by the Times for publishing the forged letters is shame fully inadequate. The Duke of Sutherland is about to marry Mrs Blair of New York.
