The Feilding Star. THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 1889 Manchester Road Board NO. 5 WARD LOAN.
As the polling for the £4000 loan for No. 5 ward will take place on Mon« day next at Messrs Bailey Bros.' mill, Taonui, we would urge upon the electors the necessity for making their arrangements to put in an appearance then to register their votes in favor of the proposals. They have already had several disappointments of getting their road system completed, and it would be an absolute misfortune if now by any apathy or indifference on the part of themselves, this attempt should prove a failure. Every ratepayer should not only attend to vote himself but should bring his neighbors to the poll, because if by any neglect the required number of votes are not registered it cannot be expected the Eoad Board will go to the expenco on another occasion of taking their suffrages as required bj law. We hope sincerely that every available vote will be recorded and the proposals carried triumphantly.
