♦ (PER UNITED PRESS A9SOCIA*MOIT) Chkistchitbch, February 22. By the San Francisco mail to-day Matson and Co. forwarded 40 typical samples of New Zealand wools to America at the request of Mr A. M. Garland, secretary of the Home Market Club, Illinois. Woodvillb, February 22. Edward Harding, one of the earliest settlers m this district, died suddenly tonight while unloadiug a dra,y. The deceased suffered from heart disease. Auckland, February 22. The Auditor Qeneral has charged £48 for auditing the half-yearly accounts of the Corporation. The Council paid, but the Auditor-General is to be informed that the charge is excessive. Six Mormon missionaries have made a tour of the northern Native settlement, disseminating their principles among the Natives.
