Scandal in High Political Circles

[By Telegraph ] Sydney, February 12. The Star of the Bth instant gives particulars of the mairiage of J-ir Henry Parkes, ex- Premier of New South Wales. The article is creating a great sensation, the whole affair having been kept a profound secret. Even now the lady's maiden name is not known, but it was believed to be a Miss Dickson, some forty y§ars: Sir Henry's junior. The couple were married by the Rev. Mr Bryce, at St. Paul's, " Church of England, Redfern, and the clergyman at once left for the country, it is thought with a view of assisting to keep the matter quiet. The silence cannot be accounted for. After the marriage Sir Henry Parkes left for the country alone. Sir Henry wa* born in 1815, and consequently was 73 years of age. A later message says that the wedding of Sir Henry Parkes having leaked out, the usual marriage announcement was published on the 1 1th of February. The bride's maiden = name was Eleanor Dixon, and she is a spinster living at Redfern. She is the mother of five children, three°of whom are alive.
