(PER UNITED PRESS ASfeOCIA'NOIT) Napieb, February 11. A man named Kennedy, a book salesman at the railway station, blew bis brains out to-day. The cause of the rash act is not known. Oamabtt. February 11. A married woman, named Mary Gallick, died suddenly on Sunday evening. At an inquest held this afternoon, it was shown that the woman had been drinking heavily. She was seized with excessive vomiting on Saturday, and died suddenly on Sunday night. The medical evidence was to the effect that death was the result of alcoholism. \ Invbboaboill, February 11. Hugh and Finlay .VicLeod, sentenced in the Bankruptcy Court to three months' hard labour for neglecting to keep proper and sufficient books, were liberated today, the appeal against the continuance of their incarceration on several technical grounds being upheld, Mrs Bowles, who was severely burnt this morning by her clothes catching fire, died to-night. She was the wife of a son of Mr Bowles, etationmaster at Bangiora. Hokitika, February 11. T*o boys, Piitcbard and Minihan, aged about 16, were dr. wned while bathing in the surf near Boss yesterday. The bodies have not yet been recovered. Wanganui, February 11. The Ehrbour Board election tiok place to day, with the following result : — Ballance, 371: Thatcher, 284 ; Stevenson, 277; H^tnck, 267; Austin, 216; Willis, 167.
