Ninety guineas per cent, has been offered to reinsure the Bay of Cadiz, now overdue from Sydney to San Francisco. An Australian cargo of wheat has been sold on the Continent at 38/1 £ An off-coast cargo has been sold at 38/7*. February 7. The brokers have offered to subscribe the bal tnce of the South Aus tralian loan at about 98. One hundred aud forty- three thousand was taken up to day at par. Australian mutton, 3sd ; New Zealand mutton, 3£d to 4d ; beef, bfd to 4±d. At the wool sales to-day the tone was very firm, Port Phillip greasies fetching 20£ d. The imports of the United Kingdom for January show an inc-r< ase of 9| per cent. The exports show an in crease of 10£ per cent. The tallow market is quiet. Mutto : tallow is quoted at 35/6 ; beef, 34/ b. Hides, 3£d to 4d. Sydney, Febiuary 7. Potatoes are easy at from LlO tv Ll2, with declining prices; maiz« i* declining. Present quota* ons are 2/6 to 3/3 ; oats, 2/10 to 3/6 ; Cape .. rley, 3/9 to 4/- ; bran, dull at lid ; pohar , steady at 1/- o£d to 1/1 ; wheat, chi k 3/3 to 3/7 ; milling, dull at 4/3 to 4/5 ; butter, dairy, lOd to 1/- ; New Zealand butter, 9d to 1/- ; cheese, plentiful ; New Zealaud sorts, 6d to 9d ; bacon, 9d to 9£d ; best light weight New Zealand chaff, Lo 10/ to L 6; South Australian chaff, L 7 to L 7 10. Melbourne, February 7. Wheat has a strong tone at 4/6| ; flour, stone makes, LlO. Oats — Calcutta, 3/1 ; Tartarian, 3/4 ; stout, 3/10; Cape barley, 3/3£; maize, 3/11. Sugar is advancing. Whites have risen to £33.
