Education Board

The usual monthly meeting of the Board was held yesterday. PresentMessrs Sansoa, Fry, Baker. Notman, Bridge, Beckett, aad Ross. Mr Sai - son was voted to the chair. Report—The report of the Executive Committee was read and adopted as follows: — Year committee beg to report that for */he vacancy in the Mauaia school, caused by the transfer of the Bey. C. Wilts to Feilding, they forwarded the applications of seven of the Board's teachers. The committee however, have' act as yet made any selection. Birmingham : A letter from the Birmingham Committee respect ing a teacher will be placed before you The committee prefer a female. The Jfeildiqg Committee have accepted Miss IStewrt as second assistant, in place of Mies lightbowa, first assistant, resigned, and Mr EL L. James takes the position of first assistant. Appointments. — The Board went into committee to consider appointments, and on resuming the following report was adopted: — From Miss Stewart, accepting the post of second assistant at Feilding. Resolved. That Miss Mewart beai-ii"i««ted.~ From the Birmingham Comsiiuoe, stating that they preferred a female teacher. Resolved, That the appointment be -offered to Miss Roache, of Feilding. — From Mr EL J. McClure, applying for appointment to the Birmingham school. Held over. — From the Mongaoni Committee, re resignation of teacher. — From Mr James McDonald, resigning. Resolved, That the resignation be accepted with regret, and the usual testimonial be given. Resolved, That application be invited for the vacancy, and that the Executive take steps to appoint a teacher for the present.
