Sir Harry Atkinson loft by the afternoon train for Palmerston en route for Taranaki. He returns to Hawera on Monday where he will address his constituents. He will probably be absent three weeks, and will address meetings at Auckland and Napier. The Hon. Mr Mitohelson leaves for the North to-morrow morning. Mr Roberts, President of the N.Z. Exhibition, is in Wellington discussing the question with Ministers and arranging about Government Exhibition.

The Minister of Mineß has received a telegram from Invercargill to the effect that over £1000 has been paid in mining fees in connection with the recent tin discoveries at Port Pegasus, Stewart Island. Dunedin. Jannary 23. The members of the Dunedin Bar intend entertaining Mr J. E. Denniston at a banquet before he leaves to commence his judicial duties in Canterbury.
