George Thomas and Co. report produce market without any alteration since last week. Business is almost at a standstill, owing to the risk of purchasers buying and holding stocks on a falling market. It is owing to these reasons that trade is restricted and of an entirely retail character. Oats are still enquired for at 3/6 per bushel; oatmeal, £17 10/-; ohaff, 8/and 4/6 per cwt; roller flour, £12, stone do, £11 ; bran, £4 10/- ; pollard, £5; feed barley, 3/8; beans, 3/9; maize, 4/6 ; peas, 3/9 ; new potatoes, kidneys, £8 to £8 10/-, round £7 10/- ; onions, £9 to £10 ; cheese, s£d to 6d ; hams and bacon, factory, 8d to B^d ; eggs, 8d to B£d, little demand ; lard, 3d to sd ; honey, 4d ; green peas, 4s per sack ; rhubarb, 3s to 4s per doz. Shipments of Sydney and Melbourne fruit to hand commanded good prices ; a quantity, however, came to hand in exceedingly bad order, for which low rates were accepted.
