Wanganui Harbor Board

The usual monthly meeting of the "Wanganui Harbor Board was held on Monday, when the Secretary stated he had written to the Crown .Lands Department, saying the Board wished to sell certain sections, and had received a Teply to the effect the Land Board would be recommended to approve of the sale of sectious 1 to 18, Block 5 ; sections, 1 to 5, Block 6 ; and sections 1 to 3, \Bloek 2 t Pohangina, if- the particulars as to tie upset price were forwarded to the Department. Mr Willis thought it unwise to part with the whole of their land. He proposed. That the Lands Department be instructed that one-half of the land be sold for cash, and one-half be let on perpetual lease, and that Mr Bray be requested to fix an upset price for each section. He thought that by perpetual lease they would let at a Better figure. The motion was carried — Chronicle.
