In the Supreme Court James White, who yesterday pleaded guilty to two charges of horse stealing, was sentenced to four years' penal servitude, the sentences to run concurrently. The prisoner previously committed robbery under arms i at Claristchurch. Dunedin, January 7. At the Supreme Court, Thos. Gleeson pleaded guilty to breaking from prison and subsequent burglaries, and was sentenced to six years in all. William Eoach, aged 71, charged with an unnatural offence, was found guilty of indecent assault, and sentenced to four years penal servitude. Alfred Yorke, for passing a valueless cheque, was sentenced to 18 months, and Henry Bloxham, for housebreaking, to j two years hard labor. This Day. John Henry Bonnor, alias Calthorpe, who yesterday pleaded guilty to three charges of forgery and uttering, was sentenced to nine months on each charge. Chuistchubch, January 7, In the Supreme Court to-day, John Powell, for stealing a bicycle, was sentenced to six months' hard labor : James Clarkson, for forging and uttering, six months' hard labor ; A. Ansley, larceny from the person, four months' hard labor ; J. Fletcher, H. Fletcher, and H. Holmes, three lads, were ordered to come up for sentence when called on for stoning some pigs to death. No bill was found against T. B. Batten for libelling J. Ollivier.
