FEILDING HACK RACES.
The weather to-day was everything that could be desired for the races, ' consequently upwards of a thousand persons were on the ground. With ' few exceptions the whole of the busi- ' ness places were closed, aud as a matter of fact the town was quite deserted in the afternoon. The following are the results of the events up to the time wo went to press : — Handicap Hurdles, of 20 soys; 1^ Miles. Rossiter .. .. 1 Olga 2 Le Clair 3 Maiden Hurdles, of 5 soys.; 1 Mile. Pride 1 Whitefoot .. .. 2 Arctic . . . . 3 Maiden Flat, of 10 soys.; 1£ Miles. Joker . . .. 1 Fbrmoy .. .. .. 2 Rosebud .. . . .. 3
