The question whether deferred payment settlers can complete titles before the time stated in the license has expired was discussed at the Land Board meeting on Thursday. Mr W. L. Dean had applied for permission to complete the title of f land at Hunterville, and the Commissioner stated that the application could not be granted because the Government had decided that only rural deferred payment land could bo so dealt with. Mr Bunny, however, was of opinion that ac» cording to the Act it was open to any deferred payment settler to complete his title if the necessary improvements had been carried out. As to the official opinion, be said he •• didn't care twopence for it ; if you wanted a blunder, go to a Government officer for it." The Board decided to grant the application. — N.Z. Tim )s.
