(PER UNITED PRBSS A^bOCJATION.) DxruEDisr. This P.-iy. A telegram from the Bluff state.? that there are no signs of Professor Brown, and his provisions have been found intact. Gisbokne, November 18. A fatal boating accident occurred this afternoon. An old identity, George Neabett, and three boys — Claude and Gordon Morgan and Edward Featon — had been out in the bay in an open boat fishing, and ware returning across tho bar when the waves swamped their craft. The three boys were washed ashore safe, but ]Nesbett got out in mid-stream, and was driven on to the harbour works. Alex* ander McGiven pluckily swam to assistance, and with the aid of another boat the old man was brought ashore. He never recovered consciousness, and after an hour's attempt at resuscitation life was found to be extinct. -Wellington, December 19. The Coptic arrived from London, via Hobart, at 6.30 this evening. Mr John Duthie was installed Mayor of Wellington to-day. Mr W. Clark, draper, filled a declaration of bankruptcy this afternoon. The liabilities are said to amount to L 15,000, the defioieucy being about LI4OO.
