Geprge Thomas and Co. report produce prices as follows *. — The firimiesb in price for all Huvb which we noted last week is still maintained with e%-pu greater intensity, and oats from 2s 6d per biuhel uf a few days back are now strongly held for 4a 6d. Oatmeal is unaltered at £20 ; oaten sheaf chaff, L 5; straw do, L 3 10s; whole fowl*' wheat, 4a 6d ; pollard and bran L 6 all round ; flour (roller), Ll2 15s ; stone, LI I 15s; feed barley, 3s 9d ; maize, 4s 6d ; beans, 4s ; field peas, ■3e 9<l ; old potatoes are quite out of the market ; onions, L2O per ton ; new potatoes, l£d per lb ; hams and bacon have advanced Id per I 1 ), and now stand at B£d per lb, equal numbers; cheese (factory) is firm at 6d per lb ; salt butter has inquiries from the other colonies, and we quote 9d per lb as a fair market value ; fresh do 9d ; lard, 4d to sd ; eggs, 10£ d per dozen. The inquiries for poultry have not been sustained, and the prices ruling are somewhat under the usual rates — Fowls, 2s 3d to 3s 6d ; ducks 4s ; turkeys, 7s per pair ; green peas, 5s to 6s per sack ; rhubarb, 5s per dozen ; asparagus, 10s per dozen ; gooseberries, 2d to 2£d per quart. We anticipate the arrival of Fiji fruit on Monday next, ex Arawata, this being the last shipment before Christman ; the demand should be brisk and prices well sustained.
