The Manchester Rifles will parade on Friday next. The new Volunteer regulations havw been published. They are of considerable inteiest to couutry corps and officers and non-coiuuiissioned officers should provide themselves with copies. Tt appCary that Captain Pleasants had already passed an examination as Captain but under clause 103 of tinexisting regulations be will have" to go up again, Th6 Euglish Army is now to be armed with the best rifle yet invented. It combines in itself all the excellencies of tbe most r.cent inventions. The powder is smokeless, the d-viation about one foot in 1000 yards with minimum trajectory. New Zealand Volunteers will not be armed with it for some vears.
