In spite of the great fall in cattle during the last mouth or six weeks, we had a very successful little sale at Awahuri last Tuesday. The yards were well filled and we sold most of the cattle and all the sheep excepting one pen. Cattle brought lower figures than at recent sales, but there was very fair bidding for those we were able to sell. Shorn sheep are in good demand, more particularly young sheep, whether wethers or ewes, are very saleable. We quote : — Cattle : 4-year bullocks, £4 2/6 ; 3- ' year steers, £3 17/- to £3 9/- ; 2 to 2J- I year Bteers, £2 6/- to £2 8/-. SHEEP : Hoggets in wool, 9/6 ; fat | shorn sheep, 9/4 ; shorn hoggets, chiefly [ wethers, 6/8.
