The Manchester Rifles assembled yesterday afternoon for judging distance practice. There was a full attendance of officers and men, and the latter are to be congratulated on the way they turned out, many of them having to come considerable distances. Captain Pleasants remitted all fines inflicted at last inspection parade on the Taooui men, as the flood in tho Oroua river prevented them crossing
