Feilding Jockey Club
A meeting was held at Oliver's Empire Hotel on Tuesday evening of members >uf the Feildiug Jockey Club Mr M.ll.i< , presided There was a very good attendance. Before :the business of the meeting was commenced, the Stewurds of thf? Club met, and after eouie formal business, resolved* in accordance with a notice of motion, That the resolution appointing Thursday, the 10:h of December, as the date for the annual general meeting, be rescinded, and Tuesday, November 20th, be appointed instead. The general meeting was then opened, and the usual routine business transacted. The following officers were appointed and elected: —President, Mr F. Y. Lethbridge; Vice-President, Mr Vk- H. Macarthur, M.H.R. ; Judge, Mr D. Downes; Starter, Mr R. Dru-ry; Clerk to the Course, Mr A. Pringle; Clerk of the Scales, Mr \V. Q Haybittle; Treasurer, Mr | G. Allen ; Secretary, Mr W. A. Sandilands; ' Stewards, Messrs H. L. SherwilU-B. J- Gosliug, Walter Builoy, E. Goodbehere, J. E. Henry, J. C. Morey, R. Morphy; and with the foregoing the following gentlemen were elected as a Committee : Messrs Hugh Cameron, A. R. Curtis, Loeejoy, and Jack man. , The following new members were elected :~Mesßrß,..Wilson, Lovejoy, C. Charlton," M. Chirlton, Hunter, A. Priugle/J. B. Prfngle, H. Adsett, W. B. Retemeyer, Wrightson, an si Smith. The - balance sheet, of which the following is a summary, was read and adopted :■*-' • ! : y 'Receipts—
Proposed by Mr Gosling, seconded by Mr Walter Bailey, That a Hack Eace Meeting be held by this Club on December 27th.—Carried. A programme, drawn up by the Committee appoiuted at the public meeting, was then read, and directed to be referred to the \Vorking Committee. The amount £ 115 was, however, approved of by resolution. Resolved, That a Race Meeting be held on Easter Monday, next year. Mr J. E. Henry was appointed Handicapper for the Hack Race Meeting. The appointment for the Easter Meeting was left to the decision of the Committee. The meeting was then closed with the usual compliment to- the chair. A meeting of the Committee was lield afterwards, and a programme, published elsewhere, adopted for the Hack Races.
