-« . Uy Electno Telegraph.— Copyright ITHU UNITED PBEBB ASSOCIATION.] Stdnkt, November 21. The German steamer Lubeck brings news from iSamoa to November 16th. On November 6th Tamasese had conl ceutrated 3000 men in a fort at Paint Malinui, and next daj the greater part of Mataafa's force assaulted their entrenchment, and after a tough fight they were repulsed with a loss of la killed and 20 or 08 wounded. A number of the latter afterwards died. Tamasese lost 8 killed and 10 wounded. Two of bis warboats were engaged, but did no damage. The wounded men were attended to bj the surgeons of the English men-of-war. Mataafa ? s force is now nearly double that of Tamasese's. On the 9th and 10th a droppiag fire was kept up, but no harm was done on either side. When the steamer left the hostile parties were still facing each other, and Mataafa is expected to win. He is building a large warboat. and the naval fight is expected to take place shortly.
