STEVENS & GORTON'S STOCK REPORT.
Bulls, October f . We yarded at Palmerston North, on Thursday last, 500 cattle and about 800 sheep. The attendance was large, the bidding spirited, and the recent prices for cattle were well maintained, showing a rise and greater demand for the larger class of steers. For sheep, the bidding was not so brisk, but we managed to sell all excepting some fat wethers m the wool. We quote : — Cattle— Fat bullocks, £5 2s 6d to £6 ; 3-year-steers, £3 9s 6d to £3 1 Is ; fat cows, £3 16s; fat heifers, £•'! ; 18---ttiouth to 2-year steers, £2 4s to £2 14s; 18-m-mths tuixod, 32h; weavers, ' mix- d, 20 to 22a 6d ; milkers. £5. iSiH'i*}) -Ka; we f hers, in. wool, 14&; i fat shorn siiKep, 9s; store, wethers, 8« < 6d ; mixed hoggets, 7u to Bs. , I ]
