IN BE " QUIZZY."

What a wonderfully clever writer <l Quizzy" is to be sure ! Not one of the Star's recent galaxy of correspondents can touch him. Amiable Horticultural Secretary, truth-loving members of that meeting, learned Doctor of medicine, grammatical "Korero," notorious "Ishmael" (whichever one you are), and sorrowing " Hagar," hide your diminished heads «very one of you, for " Quizzy" can beat you all into fits. I would even add a few other honored names— Mr Furlong, erudite champion of a literal and historical hell; the accomplished reporter of hia preaching ; his challengers .:.. " Old Mumble" and " Note of Interrogation"; yea* and ♦' Old Chrumble" * into the bargain — and I wouldsay that not one in the whole of this, grand constellation of ink-sling-«rs is fit to hold the candle to this new-fledged scribe, " Quizzy." All this, however, by way of introduction to my?subjeet. Now then, •" Quizzy," by making out that "Ishmael" (No 1 bhall I call him ?) is not the son of '■** Hagar'i! only- gets his hero far deeper in the mud than the mire, for the author of *' the really excellent composition" is a thousand times worse •character than " Ishmael" No. # 2 ; so that " Quizzy" has gained nothing by trying to establish their non-identity. "What puzz.es me is: that either of these aspirants to immortal fame «bould have adopted such characters as their prototypes, but probably 4 *'Quizey" can solve the problem. — I am, &c., . Hagab.
