WHEAT STILL RISING. By Electric Telegraph. — Copyright. (PEB UNITED PRKSS ASSOCIATION.) London, September 12. The American visible supply of wheat is 30,375,000 bushels. The total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,136,000 quarters; on the Continent, 736,000 quarters. The reports of the English hop crop are unfavorable. The value is estimated at £150,000, old duty. Unfavorable reports continue to arrive respecting the Continental hop crop. A cargo of New Zealand long-cer-ried wheat, in hold, has been sold at 40s ; a cargo of Adelaide wheat has been sold at 41s 3d, ■*-' Miller estimates the wheat yield of the world at ten million quarters below the requirements of buying countries. The wool sales will extend to October 15. It is predicted that merinos will be dearer ; crossbreds and other kinds are easier. Freights. — New Zealand, 35s per ton ; Queensland, 32s 6d per ton ; to other colonies, 27s 6d. The steamer freights have been raised 10s. In consequence of the new crop of wheat being damaged, foreign wheat is rising in value. Adelaide and best New. Zealand is quoted tvt 455, ex store. Hops, maize, and malt are also advancing. Frozen meat is steady at last quotations. Harris, a wheat expert, predicts an enormous rise in wheat in the spring, owing to the scarcity of supply. Melboubne. September 14. Wheat, 4s sd; oats, 4s; malting barley, 6a 3d ; maize, 3s lid ; bran and pollard are quiet. Adelaide wheat, 4s 3d to j 4s 4d ; farmers' lots, 4s Id to 4s 2d at i Port Adelaide, 4s at out ports ; stone j flour, £9 10s, roller made, £10 5s to £10 j 10s; bran, le 3d; pollard, Is Id; oats, 3s 4d to 3a 6d.
