The schedule of the business transacted by the House during the session sho if ß that, of 128 public Bills which originated ih the House, 51 received the Koyal assent, and 77 were dropped or otherwise disposed of. In the Legislative Council, 24 public Bills were originated, of which 21 received the Royal assent. The number of petitions presented was 508, 142 being from Maoris and 366 from Europeans. There were 240 divisions, 156 of which were in committee. Tne days of meetings were 68, and the daily average sitting 8 bours 9 minute* ; the hours of sitting before midnight being 444, and after midnight 110 hours 30 miuutes ; 268 papers were laid on the table, of which 161 were ordered to be printed, and 679 reports of Select Committees were received ; 582 questions were asked of Ministers, 1235 entries were made in the journals of the House, and 117 orders were made for papers, &c. — N.Z.
