TO THR EDITOR. « IK,— Will yon Vihdly insert these few > " linos in < our widely circulated paper or tin* bent-tit «if whoever it may concern, have a child who has beer, afflicted with an obstinjito skin disease <«f a most itching naiure for more than seven "3'ears. \Yheii six wetfks. old, or thereahc-uts, small reddish spots appeared in the Tsiee, about the size ef a pin's head. Of course, a medical man was applied to, but it steadily increased until face and head were one dark Brown crust of sores. Then it spread to the body, chest, back, -oinfs and all fleshy parts. Medical skill appeared to be of n« use, but .often made him worse. In despair I looked upon the doctors ns useless beings of the community. On the 17th of September ast the child was shown to Dr Spkrh, now residing in Wellington. On looking at him for n minute or two he struck at the root oi the disease at once, as a man of jjreat skill can do. After the first five days' treatment, small strips of healthy skin became visible; in less than a month the skin was clean ; two months a wonderful improvement on the body. After four months' treatment there only remains a few marks on his legs and wrists. The child is still under Dr Spbbe's care, as he declares it will take some time yet to entirely remove it from his system. It must also not be forgotten to add that the medicines have not had the least unpleasant effect on the internal organs, -which always was the case m preyioHS treatments. So I can confidently advise anyone who should be so unfortunate as to require medical aid, to call on Dr Speer for advice.— lam, &c . A. AiyDERSON. johnsonville, 23rd January, 18&8.
