Milcl cows in full profit, or with promising future, fetched quite the rates of lasi week. The top of the market was £7. A few calves were entered, and sold ai prices about the same as recent sales. Sheep.— Between 3000 and.< 400 C would represent the whole numbei penned, and the quality, although in some instances very superior, was not extraordinary in the main. Average .vethers were worth from 14s Id to 15s Id up to 16s 6d, according to quality, with ewes the usual proportion lower. Merino fat sheep also fetched good prices. The top price ol the market was reached by a grand line of long wootied" wethers at £1 Is. A slight falling off in the market oi last week was certainly recovered, and the tone to-day was strong at the prices of a fortnight ago. Muttoti was worth 3d a lb, and if there.; had been a better supply of sheep /there i» no doubt everything would- have been sold, as it was everything that did not have a reserve upon it changed hands. There were but few stores in the market. Cross-bred ewes in lamb were sold for 7s lld to 8s 6d ; a lot of tnixed sexes of good quality at 12s 2d hoggets, 7s ; prime hoggets, 10a 3d ; <sross-bred wethers, 12s Id. Pigs—Fair enfry and a good de» tnand. Baconers lip to 555. Pork at per lb, may be quoted at 3£d for specially good quality. Messrs Freeman R.
