Feilding State School
The ordinary- monthly meeting of the School Committee was held at the-school-house last evenings Present-— Messrs Watts (chairman), Worsfbld (secretary), F. Thompson, Reading, and J. 0. Thompson. The minutes of the previous meet* ing were read and confirmed. The following correspondence was read-: — i! ■.. J •.•••■■-.' : v ,.;:'.. •. ... Education Board, re election of members, 1 with voting paper for elections The Assistant Teacher, Mr James, asking to be allowed the use- of a room for a night-school on certain conditions. ,','•,,. A. Stewart, Patmersitonj El Beckett, Marton ; 0. Major, Havrera j and T. Hutchison, Hawera ; soliciting the votes of the Committee for nomination to membership of the Board, > ; . The School Inspector, stating the school would be inspected on the 23rd, 24th, and 27th August instant. V H. Cornish, with account for firewood. J. Priory with bill of costs in recent court case. The Head Teacher's' usual monthly report was read, showing average roll to be 290, and average attendance 216. Messrs Stewart: and Beckett were both proposed for nomination as members of the Board, and Mr Beckett was nominated by the casting vote of the chairman. • . Permission was given to Mr James to use a room at the school-house for the purpose of a night-school. . Accounts for £3 17s were passed for payment, and the meeting adijourned. '^
