It has been discovered that the recent interruptions on the cables were due to volcanic disturbances. Hobabt, This Day. Justice Dodds has been appointed Deputy Governor during the absence of the Governor m Melbourne. Adelaide, This Day. Harrison's mills at Port Adelai le have been partially destroyed by .lire. The premises -were insured for £12.000, but the estimated damage amounts to £30.000. The New Zealand Insurance Co. have a line of £2000, and the South British £1000. !
