Salvation Army
The Salvation Army beld a tea meeting at their barracks last night, there being a fair attendance, though not so large as was anticipated. Theedibles for the tea were supplied by Mr Gould, of Glairville House, and were of excellent quality. Several vehicles brought a contingent from Palmerston, including the brass band. After the tea there was a inarch out,, the procession being a torchlight one, headed by the band. Arriving back at the barracks, a Salvation meeting was held, presided over by Captain Wood. The officers in charge at Balmerston, viz., Captain Jackson, and Lieut Aitkenhead, addressed those present, and a number of local and visiting soldiers " testified." The Bey. Mr Harris, of Feilding, also gave an address. : The band played 1 several tunes very creditably, and the proceedings wound up with a coffee supper.
