Bismarck contemplates taking a prolonged holiday. Bismarck has stated privately thai the Euiperor William desires to maintain peace so long as it is compatible with the honor and dignity and interests of the Empire, and that the Emperor has solicited his support to this end, which he has promised.. Bismarck has expressed his opinion that the only cause for European anxiety is the excitability of the French. He believes that an immediate change of Ministry in France is not probable. Rumors are current that attempts will be made to murder the Emperor William. Extreme precautions have been taken in consequence, and the palace is strictly guarded. Pabis, July 3. Mr Ualfour has promised to introduce measures for the purpose of encouraging the fishing industry and promoting railway extension in Ireland. The Euapehu has sailed for NewZealand. July 5. In the House of Commons yesterday a motion to omit a clause in the Local Government Bill providing for closings hotels on Sunday, was carried by a majority of 62. The full strength of the Opposition voted against the motion. In the House of Commons this afternoon Sir John Gorst, referring tothe hostilities in Zululand, said that the chiefs Dinizulu and Undabaka had committed wanton robbery and acts of violence in British territory, and it was necessary that England should take steps to punish them. Mr Smith expressed a hope that the difficulty would soon be settled. The Rev. Mr Hughes, a prominent advocate of Methodist unionism, suggests that a conference of the churches should be held to discuss the Tongan difficulty, and if possible arrive at a satisfactory settlement. The prospects of the Indian harvest have improved, and it is believed that the threatened famine has been. averted. Calcutta, July 4.
