A painful case of supposed suicide bj drowning occurred at Mangamahoe Annie Kate Long, wife of a Mastertoi settlers, had been engaged nursing at Mangamahoe. She left the house there on Friday morning, and not returning s search party was instituted, and found her slippers on the bank of a river yes> rerday, three miles from the house. Tht tiver was dragged, and the body recovered, life being extinct. When Mr J W Long learnt thai his wife had drowned herself, he fell down in a fit, and he is said to be in a very precarious condition. Auckland, July 9.
