Awahuri School Committee
TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR. Sik, — " Fools rush in where angels fear to tread." This saying was brought forcibly to my mind when reading your issue of the sth inst. A correspondent writes : — " The Awahuri School Committee are in a pretty fix by repairing the roof of the teacher's residence, &c,, without the Board's sanction" What gross ignorance of School Committee's duties your correspondent shows by the "without the Board's sanction." It is also painfully evident by the want of knowledge of the subject your correspondent writes about that he has not been thought worthy of the humble position of a committee man by his fellow men. In concluding, sir, I should say, judging by the style of language used by your correspondent, that a little schooling would be of groat advantage to him ; and, further, that I should not have taken notice of your correspondent at all had it not been for the slur attempted on the , Awahuri School Committee, of which I have the honor to be Chairman. — I am, &c, GKB.L., Awahuri.
