TO THE EDITOR. — Will you kindly insert these few lines in your widely circulated paper for the benefit of whoever it may concern, have a child who has been afflicted with an obstinate skin disease of a most itching nature for more than seven.years. When six weeks old, or thereabouts, small reddish spots appeared in the face, about the size of .a pin's head. Of course, a medical man was applied to, but it steadily increased until face and head were one dark brown crust of sores. Then it spread to the body, chest, back, joiriis and all fleshy parts. Medical skill appeared to be of no use, but often made him worse. In despair I looked apon the doctors a* useless beings of the community. On the 17th of September iast the child -was shown to Dr Spbeb, now residing in Wellington. On looking at him for a minute or two he struck at the root of the disease at once, as a man of great skill can do. After the first five days f treatment, small strips of healthy skin became visible; ia less than a : month the skin was clean; two months a wonderful improvement \on the body. Aljter. four m'ontJis', treatment there only remains a few murks on his legs and wrists. The .child is still under Dr Spbeb's care* as lie declares it will take some time yet to entirely remove it from his system. It must also not be forgotten; to add that the medicines have not had the least unpleasant effect on the internal orgajns, which always was the case in previous treatments. So I can c6nfi« ; dently advise anyone who should be so; unfortunate as to require medical aid, to call on Dr Speeb for advice. — lam, &c. A. ATNDERSON. Johnsonville, 23rd January, 1888.
