Football and Library
__» The action of the members of the Feilding Football Club in donating to the Feilding Public Library the proceeds of the gate money to be taken at i the match to be played on Saturday next, cannot be too highly commended. We hope the public will duly appreciate this generosity, and loyally assist in the good work thus commenced. Those who go to see the match will get good value for their money. The l Palmerston men are represented as being in splendid condition, fit to play i for a kingdom — if such things are | worth having now-a-days — while the j Feilding men are in no way behind, | either in physical excellence or skill as Knights of the Leather. It is therefore confidently expected the contest will be a keen one ; all the more so if among the spectators tnere is a goodly spriakling of the fair sex to excite among the players emulation, and a desire to win their approval for skill and courage.
