STEVENS & GORTON'S STOCK REPORT.
Bulls, June 16. We had at Bulls, last Tuesday one of the most successful sales of the season. We yarded 200 head of cattle and 6000 j sheep. The attendance of buyers from j all parts of the coast was large, causing keen competition for several lines resulting in a very satisfactory sale. Though the prices for cattle were low still the bidding was more spirited and nearly everything was sold under the hammer except a few milkers. The classes of sheep yarded wera of good quality in sufficiently large lines to attract buyers, the bidding for the 3000 wethers was keen, the sheep being well woolled and tljey brought good pnces accordingly. We sold all the sheep excepting two or three small pens. We quote as follows : — CATTLE.--Fat cows, £3 7/6; forward cows, £3 ; store cows, 27/- to 30/- ; 18---montb steers, 30/- ; mixed weaners, good, 19/- ; mixed 18-month, 22/- ; milkers, £4 to £4 2/6. Sheep. — Fat wethers, 11/- bid passed in, 11/6; good woolled store wethers, 9/1 i to 9/6 ; fat half- bred wethers, 9/2 to 9/10 ; 2 and 4-tooth, 7/8; ewes in lamb, 5/9 -. to 9/- ; woolly lambs, 4/6 to 7/- ; shorn lambs, 6/4 ; fat ewes, 7/-. Small pigs, 8/6.
