Total, £13,000. Wanganui, June 12. The news of the loss of Allegro in the wreck of the Hawea was received here with great excitement by sporting men. Mr Keith purchased her (she was by Opawa — Jenny Lind) after the Palmerston meeting, and has had a very successful season. After winning the Great Northern Steeplechase on Saturday, she was greatly fancied for the Napier meeting, Mr Keith paid between £80 and £100 for her.
