"When six weeks old, or thereabouts, - small reddish spots appeared in the face, about the size of a pin's head. Of course, a medical man was applied to^ liutit steadily increased until face and liead were one dark brown crust of sore^. Then it spread to the body, chest, back, join's and all fleshy parts Medical frkill appeared to be of no use, but -often luade him worse. In despair 1 looked tipon the doctors as useless beings of the community. On the 17th of September last the child was shown to Dr.SpBEE, now residing in Wellington. On looking at him for; a minute or two he struck at ; the root of the disease at once, as a man of great skill can do. After the first five days' treatment, small strips of healthy :skin became " visible ; ; in less" than.ra ...month the skin was clean ; two months a ( w;onderful improvement; on. the rbody. After four months' treatment there only remains a few marks on his legs and; .wrists.
