C IK,— Will yo<; kindly msert these few lines in your widely circulated paper for the benefit of whoever it may concern, have a .child who has been afflicted with an obstinate skin disease of a most itching nature for more than seveu years. When six weeks old, or thereabouts, small reddish spots appeared in the face, about the size cf a pin's head. Of course, a medical man was applied to, but it steadily increased until face and head were one dark brown crust of sores. Then it spread to the bjxiy, chest, back, joints and all fleshy parts. Medical skill appeared to be of no use; but ofttn made him worse. In uespair I looked upon the doctors-as useless beings of the community. On the 17th of September last the child was shown to Dr Speer, now residing in Wellington. On looking at him for a minute or two he struck at the root of the disease at once, as a man Jbf great skill can do. After the first fire days' treatment, small strips of healthy skin became visible; in less than a month the skin was clean ; two months a wonderful improvement on the body. After four months'- treatment there only remains a few marks on his legs and wrists. The child is still under Dr Speeb's care, as he declares it will take «ome time jet to entirely remove it from his system. It must also not be forgotten to add that the medicines have not had ihe least unpleasant effect on the internal organs, which ttlways was the case in previous treatments. So I can confi<dently advise anyone who should be so unfortunate as to require medical aid, to ■call on Dr Spebb for advice. — lam, &c., Johnsonville; 23rd January, 1888.
