COMMERCIAL
STEVENS & GORTON'S STOCK EEPORT. Bulls, May 14. A good deal of stock came forward at our Bulls sale last week, but although we sold every pen of sheep excepting two, the sale was not so spirited as former sales, excepting wethers, for which there is a good demand, owing to the scarcity of wethers in the market. Gtood framed dry ewes find a ready sale. We cannot, we regret to say, report much improvement in cattle. We sold a good many head, but at prices considerably lower than we have ever sold before at this season. We quote: — Cattle. — Fat cows and heifers, £3 7/6; store cows, 35/- ; 18-month heifers, 23/-J; 2i-vr heifers with calves, £2 ; milkers, £4 5/Sheep.— 4 and 6-looth wethers, 9/7 ; 2-tooth ewes m lamb, 8/3 ; ewes in lamb, 5/5 to 8/- ; woolly lambs, .5/6 ; fat ewes, 6/8 to 6/10 ; dry ewes, 4/10. Horses, £2 17/6 to £4.
