TO THE EDITOR. — Will you liindly insert these few ***V lines in your widely circulated paper ' for the benefit of whoever it may concern, hare a child who has been afflicted with an obstinate skin disease of a most itching nature for more than seven years. When six weeks old, or thereabouts, small reddish spots appeared in the tace, about the; size of a pin's head. Of course, a medical man was applied to, but it -steadily increased until face and • Lead were one dark brown crust of sores. Then it spread to the body, chest, back, ■ joints and all fleshy parts. Medical skill appeared to be of no use, but often made him worse. In despair I looked upon the doctors as useless beings of the community. On the 17th of September last the child was shown to Dr Spbkr, now residing in Wellington. On looking at him for a- minute or two he struck, at the root of the disease at once, as ajuan of great skill can do. After the first five «lays* treatment, small strips of healthy ,skin became visible; in less than a month the skin was clean ; two ( months a wonderful improvement on the body. After four months' treatment there only remains a few marks on his legs and -wrists. The child is still under Dr £jpeer'B care, as he declares it will take some time yet to entirely remove it from his system. It must also liot be forgotten >to add that the medicines have not had She least unpleasant effect on the internal organs, which always was the case in previous treatments. So I can confidently advise anyone who should be so unfortunate as to require medical aid, to ■call on Dr Speer for ad vice.— l am, &c., JohnsonTille, 23rd January, 1888---p.S.__l W UI willingly give any further information to any person who will: either «all or address me at Johnsonville. — ' AlfVTi T.
