A French transport has arrived at Cook town with 248 French convicts on board for New Caledonia. Sydney, May 8. A deputation consisting of Chinese residents waited on the Premier to-day, and pointed out the unfairness of the Government in not allowing t© land those who had left China, believing that by paying a certain sum they would be permitted to go ashore.
